privacy policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
daiz is a couples-only app for two people to feel close through small daily rituals. Your shared space is private — just for the two of you. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what daiz needs to work, and we never sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking.
Who we are
daiz ("we," "us") is the operator of the daiz app and website. If you have any questions, contact us at hi@trydaiz.app.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and a password (stored securely, hashed) so you can sign in.
- Profile — the display name you choose and your accent color.
- Pairing — the link between you and your one partner, and an invite code.
- Content you create — your daily mood and optional notes, your private reveal answers, shared habits and check-ins, "someday" plans, keepsakes (notes, milestones), letters, the photos, videos, songs and notes on your wall, and the moments (a hug or a kiss) you send your partner.
- Notifications — if you turn on push notifications, a device token so we can deliver them.
- Technical — a user identifier tied to your account. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use it
We use your information only to provide daiz:
- to create and secure your account and pair you with your partner;
- to store and sync the content you create between you and your partner, in real time;
- to show your shared streaks, calendar, and keepsakes;
- to deliver the notifications you enable;
- to keep the service working, safe, and reliable.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
What we share
- With your partner — the whole point of daiz is to share with the one person you’re paired with. Your moods, notes, reveal answers (once you both answer), habits, plans, keepsakes, letters, and moments are visible to your partner inside the app. Reveal answers stay private until you both respond.
- Service providers — we use Supabase to store data and handle authentication, and Vercel to host the app. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- We never sell your data or share it with data brokers or advertisers.
Your choices & rights
- Unlink — you can unlink from your partner at any time in settings; this archives your shared space (read-only) rather than deleting it.
- Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account, your pair, and all its content from Settings → delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Access & correction — you can edit your profile and content in the app. To request a copy or deletion of your account data, email us.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or pair, the associated content is removed from our systems. Backups, if any, are cycled out on a routine schedule.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our provider’s security protections, including row-level access controls so that only you and your partner can read your shared space. daiz is not end-to-end encrypted, which means we can technically access stored content to operate, back up, and support the service — but we never read it for advertising, profiling, or sale. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
daiz is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure it remains protected wherever it is handled.
Changes
We may update this policy as daiz evolves. We’ll revise the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we’ll surface a notice in the app.
